Search Browser Bookmarks with Flow Launcher

At a glance

The Browser Bookmarks plugin brings supported browser bookmarks into Flow Launcher results. Browser profiles and custom data locations matter. Verify a bookmark exists in the browser profile you use before diagnosing Flow’s plugin configuration.

Steps to follow

  1. Create or choose a bookmark with a distinctive name in the intended browser profile and confirm it opens there.
  2. Check that Browser Bookmarks is enabled in Flow and inspect its keyword and browser-location settings.
  3. Search the bookmark title in Flow. If the browser uses a custom profile location, consult the project’s bookmark-location guide.
  4. Reload plugin data after a configuration change and test the bookmark again. Check that the result opens the intended URL.

Check the result

The saved bookmark appears by its recognizable title and opens the correct address. Compare two browser profiles when only one seems affected.

Limits and common pitfalls

Bookmarks can reveal account portals, private services, or document links. Redact titles and URLs before sharing logs or screenshots publicly.

Make the check repeatable

Release 2.1.4 includes a Firefox profile-loading fix related to line endings in profiles.ini. A version check is therefore useful for Firefox-specific failures. Do not overwrite a browser profile to repair launcher search; identify the correct read location and preserve the original browser data.

Questions and answers

Does the plugin search my entire browsing history?

This guide concerns saved bookmarks. Do not assume a bookmark result means browser history is being indexed.
